# Password Login Issue - FIXED ✅

## Problem Identified
Your registration was saving passwords with a newline character (`\n`), but login was trying to verify without it, causing password mismatch.

## What Was Fixed

### 1. **register.php** - Line 20-23
Added password trimming before hashing:
```php
// Trim password to remove any whitespace/newline characters
$clean_password = trim($data->password);
$hashed_password = password_hash($clean_password, PASSWORD_DEFAULT);
```

### 2. **login.php** - Line 20-22
Added password trimming before verification:
```php
// Trim password to remove any whitespace/newline characters
$clean_password = trim($data->password);
if (password_verify($clean_password, $user['password'])) {
```

## For Existing Users

The user `muzzushaik1619@gmail.com` was registered with password `0987\n` (with newline). You have **2 options**:

### Option 1: Delete and Re-register (Recommended)
1. Open phpMyAdmin: `http://localhost/phpmyadmin`
2. Select `rentmate_db` database
3. Click on `users` table
4. Find the user with email `muzzushaik1619@gmail.com`
5. Click "Delete" to remove this user
6. Re-register from your Android app with password `0987`
7. Login should now work! ✅

### Option 2: Update Password Directly in Database
1. Open phpMyAdmin: `http://localhost/phpmyadmin`
2. Select `rentmate_db` database
3. Click on `users` table
4. Click "SQL" tab
5. Run this query:
```sql
UPDATE users
SET password = '$2y$10$YourNewHashHere'
WHERE email = 'muzzushaik1619@gmail.com';
```

To get the new hash, create a temporary PHP file:
```php
<?php
echo password_hash('0987', PASSWORD_DEFAULT);
?>
```

## Testing
After fixing the existing user:
1. Try logging in with email: `muzzushaik1619@gmail.com`
2. Password: `0987`
3. Should work perfectly! ✅

## Future Registrations
All new registrations will automatically trim passwords, so this issue won't happen again.
